Message from the Foundation
Dear Friends of South Georgia College:
As a strong supporter of higher education, I am honored to serve as this year’s President of the South Georgia College Foundation. I spent my career at South Georgia College (SGC) in a variety of academic and athletic roles, and feel this experience will serve me well in this new role.
It is an exciting time to be a part of SGC. As we begin the 2008-09 academic year, enrollment is up 6.3% and we continue to have success in the classroom as well as on the athletic fields and in our extracurricular activities.
SGC has a strong heritage and for over 100 years has helped provide educational opportunities for Coffee County and the surrounding area. While we have a successful history of giving, it will be even more important in the next few years to consider donating to SGC. We must reach outside of our local area to help others in the state and beyond discover what we know SGC has to offer.
Support from the state level can no longer cover the array of initiatives SGC will need to achieve success; therefore, I ask each of you to consider how you can support South Georgia College - its students and faculty, academics and athletics, and various other programs.
It benefits us all to increase the number of college graduates; your support will provide the skilled workforce we need for the future and ensure our region and state continues to grow. So please consider a gift to South Georgia College Foundation – it’s a worthwhile investment.
To learn more about the variety of ways you can contribute or to obtain additional information on the SGC Foundation, please contact the Office of Advancement at 912.260.4274.
Sincerely,
Grace
James
SGC Foundation President
2008-2009
