Hawks defeat Middle Georgia State, 70-52

Posted on Feb 01, 2014

After a grueling January that included five conference road games, the South Georgia State College Hawks returned home Saturday night and defeated the Middle Georgia State College Knights, 70-52.

Daniel Peace led the Hawks (12-8, 5-5 GCAA) with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Ty Bull finished with 17 points, and Jovante’ Spivey had ten points, five rebounds, and five assists.

“Tonight was a good win,” said head coach Cory Baldwin.  “We haven’t had many games where we could breathe a little down the stretch, so that was nice.”

The Hawks will wrap up their two-game homestand Monday night against East Georgia State College in another conference matchup.  Tip for the game is set for 7 p.m.

General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free.
