Can I schedule an appointment?
Counseling sessions are free of charge to any student enrolled a minimum of 4 hours at SGC. The counselor will not be able to meet with students who are currently receiving counseling services from other source. How do I schedule an appointment? Please do not make an appointment via email. All referral forms must be printed, completed, signed, and turned in to the counselor. Forms can be found on the SGC website or obtained from the counselor’s office. If for some reason you must reschedule your appointment you must provide a 24 hour notice of cancellation. If you are 15 minutes late you must reschedule, and if you miss 3 appointments, you will not be seen again until the following semester. What can I expect? Each session will begin at the first of the hour and last no longer than 50
minutes. During the first counseling session a determination will be made of
what services will be most helpful to you. If the counselor is unable to provide
the services you need, you will be referred to the proper outside agency. The
max number of counseling sessions allowed is 4. However, you have the right to
discontinue counseling at any time provided you notify the counselor of your
decision to terminate services. |
