WELCOME TO THE OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID
Thank you for visiting the South Georgia College Office of Financial
Aid's (OFA) web site. We in the OFA are dedicated to helping students
and parents obtain the financial aid necessary to pay for a college
education here at SGC. It is a pleasure serving you. We are working to
streamline your application process. However, on-time processing is a
joint effort. You should start your application process as soon after
January 1st as possible each year and no later than mid-June. This will
allow us time to serve you better. This site is designed to help you in
this process and hopefully answers all questions you may have regarding
financial aid here at SGC. Should you wish for further information,
please contact our office. Our offices are
open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday from 8
a.m. to 12 p.m., except for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Memorial
Day, July 4th holiday, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holidays.
Grants, Federal Work-Study, loans, and a number of scholarships are
available through our office to help pay for the educational expenses
here at SGC. The Office of Financial Aid should be your first stop if
you are looking for information on: aid eligibility, Direct loans, the
PELL grant, the HOPE Scholarship, or the FAFSA (Free Application for
Federal Student Aid). The Office of Financial Aid is located on the
second floor of Engram Hall.
South Georgia College's Federal School Code is 001592. This information
will be needed by students completing the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA).
