Checklist

Have You:

• Completed and mailed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA or the HOPE Application?
• Completed and submitted an SGC Institutional Data Sheet?
• Notified the Office of Financial Aid (OFA) in writing of all scholarships you have received for the school year? 
• Received a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Federal Processor?
  • Is the SAR complete and correct? 
    • If No, make corrections on Part 2 of the SAR and mail it to the OFA so electronic corrections can be submitted. 
    • If your paper SAR is correct **DO NOT** mail it to the OFA. Your information will be received electronically from the U.S. Department of Education, AS LONG AS SGC WAS INCLUDED ON YOUR APPLICATION AS ONE OF YOUR SIX COLLEGE CHOICES. 
• Received a Verification Worksheet from the OFA?
  • Have you completed the Verification Worksheet and submitted it with requested tax documents to the OFA?
• Received an Award Letter? 

Remember

• Normally, the application process takes 4-6 weeks.  This may vary from student to student, so APPLY EARLY!
• You must apply every year!
• Begin the application process by completing the FAFSA or the Renewal FAFSA!
