Joint Enrollment

Joint Enrollment gives academically talented high school students the opportunity to earn college credit before graduating from high school. In some cases the high school student may be able to be dually enrolled--earning high school and college credit at the same time. The cost of tuition and fees may be covered by Accel, a program funded by the State revenues, or MOWR (Move On When Ready), a program funded through the high school’s Full Time Equivalency (FTE) funding.

Who is eligible? What are the requirements?

  • Rising Juniors and Seniors
  • Minimum high school academic GPA of 3.0
  • 970 combined Critical Reading and Math SAT score (with minimum 430 Critical Reading and 400 Math) or 20 composite ACT score (with minimum 17 English and 17 Math)
  • On track towards the completion of the Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) requirements and high school graduation

What is the Accel Program?

The Accel Program provides financial assistance to high school students who take advantage of the opportunity to earn college credit as they simultaneously meet their high school graduation requirements. Accel pays for all tuition, some fees, and some books for the Fall and Spring Semesters. Accel does not pay for Summer Semester classes. Accel is not available for home school students or non-accredited high school students.

What is the MOWR (Move On When Ready) Program?

MOWR is a program that provides financial assistance through the high school’s Full Time Equivalency (FTE) funding for eligible full-time (12 or more semester hours) dual enrolled students. The cost of tuition and fees are provided for the Fall and Spring Semesters, but the student is responsible for all books. MOWR does not provided funding for Summer Semester classes. MOWR is not available for home school students, private school students, or non-accredited high school students.
