Freshmen Students
Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees - Transfer Programs leading to Baccalaureate Degrees
Requirements:
- Application for enrollment.
- One-time $20.00 enrollment fee.
- Official high school transcripts, with graduation date, or GED scores.
- An immunization record, completed by a health care professional.
- Compass Test scores.*

COMPASS Test: The COMPASS test can be exempted if the following requirements
are met: SAT scores of 430 English, 400 math (or ACT scores of 17 English, 17
math) AND completed the college preparatory curriculum in high school. The
COMPASS test is only used for placement purposes to determine whether learning support classes are needed.
College coursework: Students who transfer less than 30 hours of college or technical school coursework into SGC will be classified as freshmen. In this case, SGC requires all college or technical school transcripts to be mailed from the institution attended. Students transferring more than 30 hours of coursework will be a classified as transfer students.
