Policy for Reviewing Recruitment Materials and Presentations
As required by South Georgia College and the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools (SACS), College Relations reviews all recruitment materials
and presentations to ensure that they accurately represent the institution.
The materials are evaluated each time a reprint occurs. Please contact us
prior to making any changes or commitments for media services.
Slogan
The phrase "A Degree of Difference" has been adopted as the college's slogan, to be used as a graphic design element and to portray the essence of South Georgia College’s mission in stories, presentations, etc.
Identity Statement
On stationery and business cards, the words “A Degree of Difference" define the identity of South Georgia College.
Graphic Identity
The common and consistent use of the South Georgia College seal and other design elements will communicate a strong, unified identity for South Georgia College.
South Georgia College Seal
The South Georgia College seal depicts a highly recognized symbol among the majority of those who have attended South Georgia College. The seal is located on the gates of each entrance into the college. While referencing a well-known symbol of the campus, the seal also embodies academics, strength, permanence, and words of truth, justice and wisdom. The second integral part of the seal is the name of the college, typeset in Adobe Garamond.
The logo is a public identifier to be used on stationery, publications, web pages and other items representing South Georgia College. When used consistently, it provides a clear and unified look to the public.
Please do not alter the seal. The Board of Regents must approve any change in the college seal.
The logo is available to download in several layout formats and two ink options (see links on bottom of this page).

Identity Colors and Traditional Colors
South Georgia College has two sets of official colors: one used for the logo, stationery and other more formal items, and traditional colors used for items ranging from banners to athletic uniforms.
The blue and gold used for the logo and other more formal uses are the Pantone colors PMS289 Navy and PMS871 Gold. .
The Pantone colors for items ranging from banners to athletic uniforms are the traditional blue and gold are PMS289 Navy and PMS113 Gold.
Typography
The standard typeface used for college communications pieces is Veranda. Typefaces to complement Veranda are the headline font Marydale and the sans serif font L Frutiger Light.

It is essential that all stationery items be of consistent design and print quality. Stationery can be ordered from College Relations.
