SGC, WC Announce Early Registration Dates for Spring
2013 Semester
South Georgia College and Waycross College have announced early registration
dates for the spring 2013 semester as the two institutions progress towards
their anticipated consolidation and formation of soon to be South Georgia
State College on Jan. 8, 2013, pending approval by the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and the University System of
Georgia’s Board of Regents.
South Georgia State College will be a multi-campus institution with a
Douglas campus and a Waycross campus, and will provide enrollment and
student services at both locations beginning in January in conjunction with
the spring 2013 semester. College officials encourage both new and returning
students to complete all admissions, financial aid, and registration
processes as early as possible to guarantee a smooth transition into spring
semester.
Douglas Campus - Early registration for current SGC students will be Nov.
6-7. New students should contact Admissions to sign up for one of the
Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) sessions to be held on Nov. 16,
Nov. 30, and Dec 7. While the financial aid priority date is set for Oct.
18, students are encouraged to continue to contact financial aid over the
next few weeks to ensure their aid is fully processed prior to the start of
spring semester.
On-site registration and orientation will be held on Jan. 2, 2013. The first
day of class is scheduled for Jan. 3. For more info about Douglas campus

Waycross Campus - Current Waycross College sophomores will be allowed to
register for spring classes Oct. 29 – Nov. 1. Early registration for all
currently-enrolled students is scheduled for Nov. 5-8, and newly admitted
students may register Nov. 12-15.
The campus’s traditional Registration Day will be Jan. 7, 2013, while the
first day of class in Waycross is set for Jan. 9. The financial aid priority
date is Nov. 19. Students who complete their financial aid paperwork by this
date should have their aid fully processed prior to the start of spring

The consolidated institution will utilize a master class schedule for the
first time beginning with the summer 2013 semester.
