SGC Swim Teams Finish First, Third at Berry

The South Georgia College swim team enjoyed another excellent weekend of competition at Berry College, with the men winning their second meet in a row. The women’s team finished on the podium with a third-place showing of their own.

SGC had several swimmers take first place in their respective events: Zack Moon (100 breast and 200 breast), Joey Materne (400 individual medley), Kaitlyn Ward (200 breast) and Erik Montgomery (200 free). The men’s relay team of Materne, Moon, Montgomery and T.J. Crossland won the 400 medley and the 400 free.

The swimmers are off this weekend, but return to action on Feb. 3 at Darton College in Albany.
