SGC Swimmers Finish Seventh in Three-Day Meet
In what served as a tune-up for the national championship meet later in the
season, the South Georgia College swim team competed at the Savannah College
of Art and Design (SCAD) Invitational recently, and finished seventh in both
the men’s and women’s competitions.
Among the teams present were Emory, SCAD and Wingate College, all of which
have national championships in their team palmares in recent years. “This
was a big meet similar to what we will face at Nationals. Our swimmers swam
very well in the finals against a very fast field of swimmers. This meet was
a good test for our swimmers. Everyone competed well and almost all cut
times in the finals,” stated head coach C.M. Jenkins.
