Lady Tigers Go Undefeated on Mississippi Road Trip

The South Georgia College women’s soccer team continued their winning ways with a pair of wins against Hinds College and Meridian College in Meridian, Mississippi, last week. Hinds College was unable to stay with the Lady Tigers as the women put in 10 goals -- three from Payton Leffew, three from Tiffany Morris, two from Monique Hollins, and one each from Kayla Herman and Steyci Eccleston. Kaylee Horn registered the shutout.

The second game was more evenly matched with Meridian College but still the Lady Tigers scored three goals and gave up a penalty kick to allow Meridian’s only score. Tiffany Morris had two goals and Payton Leffew had one. Meridian pressured the Lady Tigers for the entire second half but could not equalize. The penalty kick given up by the Tigers kept them from registering two shutouts in two days.

With these wins, the Lady Tigers are now 5-2 and in second place in the conference.
