Lundin Signs with Point University to Run Cross Country
Brandon
Lundin, a sophomore standout runner from South Georgia College, has signed a
letter of intent to run cross country for the Point University Chargers this
coming fall. "Brandon will be a tremendous asset to our campus on and off
the cross country course," said head coach Michael Caldwell. "Brandon will
provide immediate leadership and if he shows up in the condition I believe
he will, he will have a strong junior campaign."
Coach Robert Preston at SGC was particularly pleased with Brandon signing
with Point University as Brandon becomes the first SGC runner to sign with a
four-year school. “Brandon impressed me from the first day I met him. He is
a mature, responsible young man with natural leadership qualities. He was
the only sophomore on our team this year and he was the runner others on our
team looked up to. He was a tremendous asset to our program. We had a very
successful season, and his leadership was one of the reasons why. He will
make an immediate positive impact at Point University, both athletically and
academically.”
Brandon, who attended Ridgeview High School in Orange Park, Fla., owns three
of SGC’s 10 best eight-kilometer times: 29:18, 29:44 and 30:05. In October,
he won the Racing for the Pinks 5K in Waycross with a personal best time of
17:26.
