Celebrate SGC’s Homecoming Weekend 2011
With the SGC Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Gala
And Presentation of Alumni of the Year Award

In an effort to recognize the many contributions made by the over 10,000 alumni of South Georgia College, the College, with sponsorship from the South Georgia College Foundation, is proud to announce the launching of a new opportunity to honor outstanding SGC alumni by establishing an Alumni of the Year Award.

The first-ever award will be presented during a gala Saturday evening of the 2011 Homecoming Weekend, April 1-3, 2011. Please submit your nomination using the form available on the alumni page of the SGC website. Provide names, addresses and any biographical information that you have for those that you wish to nominate. The award will be given for outstanding contributions in the person’s chosen field of endeavor or for outstanding personal accomplishments.

A selection/judging committee will review all nominees and decide, by majority vote, which will be named the 2011 award recipient. The deadline for Alumni of the Year Awards nominations is March 1, 2011.

The weekend will include many activities to highlight the growth and accomplishments of SGC and its alumni. Other planned events include a golf tournament to support SGC Athletics; Tiger baseball games; campus tours; receptions honoring the 15th (1996), 25th (1986), and 50th (1961) reunion groups as well as a complimentary movie and cultural event.

Registration for the other Homecoming activities is March 18, 2011. To register or learn more about any Homecoming events or Alumni of the Year nominations, please contact the SGC Office of Advancement at (912) 260-4273 or email advancement@sgc.edu.
