Lady Tigers Defeat St. Johns River CC in Tourney

The South Georgia College Lady Tigers softball team traveled to Florida for their first tournament of the season last weekend. The Lady Tigers faced stiff competition from some of the best junior college softball teams in the country.

SGC returned from the tournament with a disappointing record but good team results. The Lady Tigers finished the weekend 1-4 with losses to FCCJ, Tallahassee Community College, Gulf Coast, and St. Pete. Their only win came against St. Johns River Community College by a score of 9-3. All of the losses were close and against teams ranked in the top 25 in the country.

SGC is back in action this weekend in a tournament at Darton College in Albany. The Lady Tigers do not play at home until they face Brewton Parker on Feb. 23.
