session and his book Georgia's Man in the Middle: Fifty Years of
People/Politics.
A native of Douglas, Joe is son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Sports. He is

Georgia’s Man in the Middle is a book 50 years in the making, the personal
recollections of one who guided a political organization during turbulent
times and helped launch the careers of several public officials along the
way. For more information, visit www.gabeat.com.
