SGC’s Felipe Nascimento Named All America
South
Georgia College freshman forward Felipe Nascimento has been named to the
National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America (NSCAA) All Region and All
America teams following a strong 2009 campaign with the Tigers.
Nascimento, of Coconut Creek, Fla., was one of the leading scorers in the
country, and led the conference in both goals and points. In 17 games,
Nascimento scored 21 goals, had eight assists and accounted for 50 points.
He was sixth in the nation in goals and points.
As a result of his performance, he was named NSCAA All Region (Second Team)
and NSCAA All America (Second Team). In addition, he was named to the Region
XVII All Region team as well. “Felipe is an excellent player who plays the
game the right way. He has great instincts, and he knows how to put the ball
in the net. He was an important part of our offense this season, and he’s
going to play an equally pivotal role for us next year,” says SGC head coach
Ken Kirsch.
