SGC Theatre Company to Present Five One-Act Plays

The South Georgia College Theatre Company (SGCTC) is pleased to announce its fall production, Theatre Stew, a program of five comic one-act plays featuring a cast of 15 SGC students and one faculty member. The show will be performed on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 12:20 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 12:20 p.m. Performances will take place in the Studio Theatre, Peterson Hall Room 142.

The five one-acts range in tone from seriocomic to absurd. Playwriting 101 features Archie Lash as a teacher and Justin Dean and Andrew DiNicola as the subjects of his lesson. Failing the Improv tells of another teacher (Tim Wood) attempting to instruct two women (Mary Frost and Alice Roberson) in the fine art of improvisation. Heads explores what three college students (Anna Braswell, Caitlyn Morris, and Dana Solomon) should do with a found wallet.

Hurry! is set at a speed dating service and features Caitlyn Morris, Daniel Willis, Jake Moore, and Latriscia Wilson. Controlling Interest offers a unique perspective on the relationship between men and women and stars Justin Harrell, Lorenzo Whittingham, Toronto Sparkman, Daniel Willis, Amanda Mincey and Latriscia Wilson. The casts of Heads, Hurry! and Controlling Interest are all students in the current SGC Acting class.

A small amount of language is not suitable for children or those who are easily offended. There is no admission charge for the shows and all students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are invited to attend.
