FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At a recent meeting of the Douglas Lions Club, SGC Director of Community and Foundation Relations Walda Kight provided an update of goings-on at SGC. She reported that applications for fall enrollment are up by 11 percent, which should translate into a record number of students on campus this fall. In addition, the college hopes to cut expenses by streamlining operations through the use of the Lean 6 Sigma model. The college is dealing with increased cuts in state funding, but is committed to preserving instruction. She is pictured with Rep. Chuck Sims, member of the Douglas Lions Club.
South Georgia College (www.sgc.edu) was founded in 1906 and is a two-year institution in the University System of Georgia. Located in Douglas, Ga., the college's environment gives students exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary study and close collaboration with faculty.
