Get into shape with yoga at SGC
There’s no better time than right now to get in shape, and
South Georgia College has just the program for you.
Beginning August 10, the Department of Continuing Education is hosting a
series of yoga classes that will be taught by Vivian Bennett, an AFAA
certified group and personal fitness instructor. She also has received
training from the Arthritis Foundation as an exercise teacher and is
certified as a Kripalu yoga instructor. She is a member of Kripalu Yoga
Teacher Association and the Yoga Alliance.
The benefits of yoga include: More energy, increased strength and
flexibility, improved balance and coordination, cardiovascular health, lower
blood pressure, stress reduction and enhanced relaxation, greater
self-esteem, personal growth and body awareness, and strengthened mental
concentration and focus.
The classes will take place in Peterson Hall, Room 138 (behind the stage) on
Mondays from Aug. 10 to Sept. 21 (no class on Sept. 7). The cost is $39 for
the six-session course. To register or learn more information, contact the
Department of Continuing Education at or at
coned@sgc.edu.
