SGC selects Higher One for students’ refund service
Receiving a refund or other financial disbursement at South Georgia College
just got easier.
SGC is pleased to announce a partnership with Higher One Inc., a financial
services company focused solely on higher education that will provide a new
method of refund disbursement to students. Founded in 2000, Higher One
provides higher education institutions and their students with efficient,
convenient and easy-to-use solutions with regards to handling financial
disbursements.
SGC will roll out this new and improved refund system in August. Instead of
receiving a standard check through the mail (which may take a week or
longer), students will receive an Easy Refund Card, which looks like a
standard debit card. The Easy Refund Card will provide SGC students with a
faster way to receive their financial aid or school refunds. Through the use
of the card, students will utilize the "Easy Refund" method—the fastest and
easiest way for students to gain access to their refund money— to receive
their refunds or financial aid literally the same day SGC releases the
funds.
SGC will inform students of this new program with a variety of flyers,
mailings and also include it in each orientation session for fall.
