SGC to offer Math 1 refresher course for high school students
High school students, need a refresher course in Math 1
before heading into Math 2? If so, South Georgia College has you covered.
For eight days in June and July, Duane Benson, Associate Professor of
Mathematics at South Georgia College, will teach a class designed to prepare
high school students for Math 2. Mr. Benson will cover functions, polygons,
circles and spheres, probability, algebra and connections between these
topics. Hands-on activities, collaborative learning, and computer activities
will be used to facilitate student learning.
The only prerequisite is students must have completed their freshman year in
order to be eligible. The dates are June 8, June 10, June 15, June 17, June
22, June 24, June 29 and July 1. The class will take place from 10:30 a.m.
to noon (12 hours total), and the cost of the class is $79.
