Lady Tigers drop two to Georgia Military
Georgia Military defeated the SGC Lady Tigers on April 7 8-2
and 13-1 in Douglas.
Tiffany Davies started game one and threw well until the fifth inning.
Georgia Military showed patience at the plate and plated six runs on three
walks and four doubles. Shannon Carter came in for Davies and pitched the
sixth and seventh innings.
Megan Hartley provided much of the offense; she was 3-3 in the game.
Things only got worse in game two. Jessica Cooper recorded three outs on
three pitches in the first inning. However, in the second, Georgia Military
got to Cooper and SGC ended up down 6-0 quickly. Carter and Josie Page
finished the game in relief for the Lady Tigers.
Brittany Johnson was 1 for 2 with a triple.
SGC has three double-headers left this season, two of which have been
re-scheduled due to weather or academic reasons. The games are with Andrew,
ABAC and Gordon. The ABAC double-header will be played in Douglas. As a
result of the number of re-scheduled games throughout the conference, the
playoffs have been pushed back a week.
