Tiger Preview Day at South Georgia College set for
April 4
If you are a high school senior or parent of a senior,
please mark Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on your calendar and
save the date.
On that day, South Georgia College will host Tiger Preview Day at the Clower
Student Center, a morning of activities aimed at showcasing the
opportunities SGC offers prospective students. Attendees will be able to
visit a number of booths that highlight campus activities, and learn
important information about the admissions process, including financial aid
and scholarships.
Members of the staffs of the Office of Advancement, Financial Aid,
Admissions and Student Life/Housing will give a short presentation to
parents and students outlining important dates and information for Fall
registration.
Student Life/Housing will also provide valuable information about SGC’s
Tiger Village, a state of the art student housing center located on campus.
Tiger Village offers private bedrooms, 24-hour security, planned activities,
a computer lab with high-speed Internet and a resident lounge. Tiger Village
is centrally located on campus adjacent to the Clower Student Center and a
short walk away from the gym, soccer and baseball fields.
The highlight of Tiger Preview Day is a drawing for a $500 SGC scholarship.
One lucky high school senior will also take home the scholarship, worth
$500, for simply attending the event. The scholarship must be used at South
Georgia College for Fall 2009.
Tiger Preview Day begins at 11 a.m. After previewing the booths, the
scholarship will be awarded at noon. A tour of the campus will follow with
lunch on the lawn. Attendees will receive free tickets to the SGC v. Andrew
College baseball game that begins at 1 p.m. or the SGC v. FCCJ softball
game, which starts at 2 p.m. All attendees will also receive a free t-shirt.
South Georgia College was founded in 1906 as the 11th District Agricultural
& Mechanical School. SGC is the oldest publicly supported two-year school in
Georgia, and reported a Fall 2008 enrollment of 1,865 students, the largest
in school history.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP at
admissions@sgc.edu.
