Dr. Joe Chapman visits SGC
Dr.
Joe Chapman, professor of music at North Georgia College and State
University, visited South Georgia College Tuesday night and presented ‘A
Tricentennial Celebration of the Piano: 1709-2009,’ which included the works
of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy and others. Dr. Chapman has
performed across the United States and eight foreign countries as conductor,
accompanist, vocalist and instrumentalist. Besides the keyboard, Dr. Chapman
is an accomplished arranger and composer. Dr. Chapman played to a large
crowd of community members and students alike inside McGouirk Auditorium.
The concert is one of several cultural events the college has planned for
the spring semester.
