FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Learn about great historic places to visit in Georgia at SGC Georgia has a rich historical and cultural heritage. Some of the most significant events in the history of the United States took place in Georgia, some very close to Douglas and Coffee County.As a way of teaching citizens about these fascinating events and sites, the South Georgia College Department of Continuing Education will host a one-night program, led by Lori Hennesy, Magnolia Midlands Regional Representative for the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Tourism Division, that discuss the nearby historic sites and attractions. The state is filled with sites and attractions that are interactive and expressive of where both Georgia and the United States have been. Looking at the past is fascinating activity, one that provides an excellent context concerning current events. Come hear about how you can share in the experiences of where Georgia has been. This is a great opportunity for students in Georgia history classes at all levels of education. The course will take place on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 7-9 p.m. in room 142 at Stubbs Hall on the SGC campus. The cost is $9 and all ages are invited.
