Prepare for higher education – today!
Parents, there is no better time than right now to prepare your high school
student for higher education.
Resources are readily available to assist your child in getting ready for
college and making the transition to higher education. The South Georgia
College Department of Continuing Education would like to help you find and
utilize these resources. On Jan. 12 and Jan. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m., SGC will
host informational sessions with Dr. James Banks, Jr., a local educator and
school administrator.
Dr. Banks will discuss graduation requirements, class rank and grade point
average, high school testing, college admissions requirements, the
importance of participation in sports and clubs, and tutorial services
available for students who are struggling academically.
The sessions will be held in room 142 in Stubbs Hall on Monday, Jan. 12 and
Monday, Jan. 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. Different topics will be discussed each
night. The cost is $19. Students are free with a paying adult.
