Travel the U.S. and Europe with SGC, Collette Vacations
If you would like to do some traveling, whether it be within
the United States or abroad, you should attend an informational meeting at
South Georgia College on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Engram Union
Ballroom. SGC Continuing Education and Collette Vacations are partnering to
offer exciting travel opportunities in 2009, and this meeting will discuss
these opportunities and answer any questions you might have.
Trains of the Colorado Rockies nine day tour will depart in May 2009 and
will highlight Denver, Rocky Mountains National Parks, Georgetown Loop
Railroad, Vail Grand Junction, Durango and Silverton Railroad, Durango, Mesa
Verde National Park, Royal Gorge Railroad, Colorado Springs, Pike’s Peak Cog
Railway, and Garden of the Gods. The tour includes round-trip air from
Jacksonville International Airport, cancellation waiver and insurance,
lodging and 12 meals for $2,789 per person/ double occupancy.
An additional eight day tour will depart in December 2009 visiting the
enchanting Christmas markets of Salzburg, Linz, Vienna, and Prague.
Highlights of this trip include the history and traditions of Austria from
Mozart's birthplace in Salzburg to Vienna's stunning St. Stephan's Cathedral
ending in the Czech Republic's Golden City of Prague with its beguiling mix
of architectural gems. With two nights in each of these lovely cities, this
is a well-balanced tour with an easy pace and unforgettable dining
experiences that include Salzburg's centuries-old St. Peter's Restaurant and
the historic Altes Presshaus Restaurant in the wine-making village of
Grinzing. The tour includes round-trip air from Jacksonville International
Airport, cancellation waiver and insurance, lodging and nine meals for
$2,729 per person/double occupancy.
A fall foliage trip to New England is also in development. The tour is
scheduled to begin on Oct. 13, 2009 and will continue for eight days.
Explore the abundant charms of New England along its winding back roads. Get
to know historic Boston with a locally guided tour. Wander Vermont's
Shelburne Museum's 37 carefully restored buildings. Visit a picturesque
working farm. Cruise on Lake Champlain, lined with the striking Adirondacks.
Dig in at a traditional New England lobster dinner. Hug Maine's dramatic
coast and discover the communities of Boothbay Harbor and Kennebunkport.
Watch apples transform into cider at Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Tour Ben &
Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory to learn about the ice cream process and enjoy
delicious samples. This tour also includes air transportation and lodging,
along with 11 meals.
South Georgia College Continuing Education and Collette Vacations will host
a free travel preview and information session on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at
6:30 p.m. to introduce the tours to the community.
