SGC Continuing Ed to offer public speaking course
Is fear in the way of your success? Are you afraid
to stand up and speak in front of others? If you are, you’re not alone.
According to The Book of Lists, speaking in public is the number one fear
held by most people.
But you can conquer that fear, painlessly and enjoyably, by attending the
Speechcraft program sponsored by the South Georgia Continuing Education
Department. Speechcraft is designed to develop your public speaking
abilities. Through instruction and participation, you will become an
experienced and poised speaker.
The course takes place in six Thursday sessions beginning Oct. 2. In
addition to Oct. 2, classes will meet on Oct. 9, 16, 23, Nov. 13 and Nov.
20. The class lasts from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Mark Tidrow of Toastmasters
International will teach the course inside the art gallery meeting room in
Peterson Hall. The fee is $25, and this course has been approved for one PLU
for educators. You must register for the course by Monday, Sept. 30.
For more information, call Continuing Education at (912) 260-4272.
