SGC Continuing Education to Offer Tennis Lessons
Ready to learn a new sport or brush up your skills on an old one? South
Georgia College’s Department of Continuing Education is offering beginning
group tennis lessons on the SGC tennis courts beginning Sept. 15
Maggie Thomas, who was a member of the 2007 Region 1-AAAAA champion Coffee
High Trojans tennis team, will be teaching the 12-session program. Classes
are scheduled for each Monday and Thursday from Monday, Sept. 15 to Monday,
Oct. 27 (no class will be held on Monday, Oct. 13) from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Through group instruction, learn basic tennis skills including the backhand,
forehand, serve, and volley with some instruction on playing singles and
doubles matches. Students must furnish their own racquet and one unopened
can of balls on the first day of class. The program costs $89. Children ages
eight to 12 are eligible for the classes. Come dressed to play!
