Ask a Librarian

Who may use this service?

This service is primarily intended for current students, faculty, and staff of South Georgia College. Questions from outside the campus should be restricted to questions of local holdings or other unique local information.

What kinds of questions may I ask?

This is a reference--not a research--service. Questions must be factual and/or lend themselves to a short answer. In addition, we can suggest a research strategy or direct you to a particular resource.

We can email a limited amount of information, but we cannot email or FAX materials. If you are an SGC student, faculty, or staff and would like an item not available at the SGC Library, please contact Interlibrary Loan (ILL) at 912.260.4327.

When can I expect a response?

This service is monitored during hours of operation Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. You should receive a response within 2 business days (e.g., a question submitted on Friday will receive a response by Tuesday). If an immediate response is needed, call the Library at 912.260.4327.

Ask a Librarian Form

Use the form below to send a question to a Reference Librarian at the SGC Library. For the best response, be as complete as possible in asking your question and in telling us about your research needs.

Is your research for a particular class? If yes which class

Is your research for a particular project?  if other, identify

What kind of materials you are looking for?

What resources have you already tried? We wouldn't want to duplicate your efforts.
