Obtaining your current Galileo password

GALILEO Password information is available through "MY ACCOUNT" in the SGC GIL Online Catalog.

1. Connect (from a computer anywhere) to the SGC Library Home Page.
2. Click on the GIL@sgc catalog link.
3. Click on the link labeled "Access My GIL Account"
   1. Select Home Institution ‘South Georgia College’ [if not already displaying as the default]
   2. Select 'SGC ID Barcode' [should display as the default selection] ** or Tiger ID from the drop-down box
      - Type in your SGC ID barcode number [the number on the back of your SGC ID card] or type in your Tiger ID
   3. Type in your Last Name
   4. Click the "Logon to Your Account" button
4. Click the "REQUEST" button at the top of the screen on your account screen
   1. The current GALILEO password will display as the default in the drop-down menu
      [Clicking the "GO" button may provide more detailed information on the ending date for the current password and on forthcoming password information. Passwords are changed four times a year: May 15, June 14, August 15, and December 20.]
5. Always click "LOGOUT YOUR ACCOUNT" or "Exit" at the bottom of the screen to close YOUR ACCOUNT.

** Note: It is highly recommended that everyone use the barcode number found on the back of one’s SGC ID card. This number is one’s library GIL account number. You may obtain a SGC ID card in the Student Union.
