RESOURCES FOR PATRONS WITH DISABILITIES
Physical Access
- Parking. Handicapped Parking is available in the front of the library.
- Building Access. There is one point of access to William Smith Library.
South side of building: Persons wishing to enter the library may take the ramp up from the ground level and use the automatic door in the front.
- Restrooms. All public library restrooms are wheel-chair accessible. The restroom next to the Georgia Room is larger and made specifically for wheel chairs.
Book Retrieval and Photocopy Assistance
- William Smith Library aims to ensure complete access to its public collection to all patrons, irrespective of physical limitation or challenge. Patrons with disabilities who find any shelved material difficult or impossible to retrieve should seek the assistance of library staff to retrieve library materials or provide assistance in using library equipment. All parts of the library are accessible by wheelchair. Handicapped restroom facilities and a wheelchair-accessible water fountain are located next to the Georgia Room.
