1. FLSA
When exempt employees are absent from work for less than one scheduled workday and their accumulated leave is insufficient to cover the partial day of absence, they shall be placed on FLSA leave with pay for the period of absence.
2. Court Duty
Regular employees may take court duty with pay to serve on a jury or as a witness. Employees must attach the official orders to the appropriate time reporting form for leave to be approved.
3. Voting
The College encourages employees to exercise their constitutional rights to vote in all federal, state and local elections. When employees normal working hours coincide with voting hours, they will be permitted to take time off with pay to vote. Employees' Supervisors must approve this absence.
4. Selective Service and Military Physical Examinations
Regular employees who are required by Federal law to take a Selective Service or military physical examination will be permitted to take the necessary time, with pay.
5. Personal Leave
The President may approve personal leaves of absence without pay for up to one year. The Supervisor must approve personal leaves. Employees on personal leaves of absences may continue their employee benefits with the College.
6. Maternity Leave
Disability due to pregnancy shall be considered as any other disability, and appropriate sick leave provisions of these policies shall apply.
7. Other
In the event of inclement weather or any emergency that requires an employee's absence, the President may declare leave with or without pay.
