Working Title: Coordinator of Student Activities

Department: Student Affairs
The Coordinator of Student Activities provides programs and services designed to enhance the extracurricular activities for the students of South Georgia College.
Assists students, college staff, and other members of the community with planning and implementing student activities designed to enhance entertainment and educational offerings for the campus community.
Coordinates, promotes, and supervises campus events such as socials, dances, club showcases, field day events, games, student interest seminars, contests, fund-raisers, trips, community service projects, and recreational competitions.
Assists clubs and organizations with preparing and monitoring budgets.
Meet with SGA and other groups to promote inter-group sponsorship of events.
Assists with providing or arranging transportation for college-related trips.
Plans, processes, and accounts for budgets for events, supplies, contracts, and personnel supporting the college's student development mission.
Assists with ongoing efforts to measure and improve program effectiveness.
Supports college efforts to increase retention and graduation rates.
Contributes to the college's effort to increase access to higher education.
Assists with other student services functions, as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life.
Occasional work hours outside the normal work week.
Ability to successfully plan, market, and implement relevant programming for students.
Ability to produce and maintain records and reports.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Ability to make and apply decisions in accordance with institutional policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
Supervision:
The Coordinator of Student Activities reports to the Director of Student Life. The Coordinator will supervise assigned student workers.
