Job Description
Working Title: Director of Business Services

This is an administrative position that is responsible for the following functions: accounting, accounts payable, cash receipting and disbursing, purchasing, bookstore, snack bar and post office operations.
· Plans, organizes, reviews and supervises procurement, accounts payable, and cashiering operations.
· Prepares and/or supervises regular and special financial and statistical statements and reports.
· Analyzes and reviews various organizational procedures and problems and makes recommendations for improvements.
· Maintains contracts and requests reimbursements.
· Maintains balances and submits invoices to various agencies including GSFIC for MRR and bond fund projects.
· Reconciles financial aid payments between general ledger and financial aid office.
· Supervises meal card system and acts as liaison between the College, students, and offsite vendors.
· Responsible for Business Office Banner functions including closing, posting, and reconciling all Banner sessions with financial system.
· Handles complaints for the Business Office.
· Responsible for maintaining fees in Banner.
· Reports to work as scheduled by immediate supervisor.
Prepares and supports numerous and various reports of the financial status of the college
Works with the Department of Audits for an annual auditing of the college
· Thorough knowledge of computer systems.
· Excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal relations skills.
· Considerable knowledge of the policies, rules, and regulations of the institution relative to the position.
· Considerable knowledge of modern office practice, procedures, and equipment.
· Considerable knowledge of budgetary processes.
· Ability to keep complex records and to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from such records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with institution officials, administrators, and employees
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; three-five years experience in accounting, preferably with an educational institute with supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience
Supervision:
The Director of Business Services reports to the Vice President of Business Affairs
