Working Title:          Instructional Technology Specialist

FLSA Exemption:    Professional

Department:            Informational and Instructional Technology

 

Purpose:

This is professional and technical work involving the instruction and use of technology support equipment for the college.

 

Nature of Work:

Essential Functions

·        Sets up the college World Wide Web pages for library and faculty.    

·        Serves as back-up Novell LAN administrator for the college library.

·        Supervises part-time employees/students.

·        Reports to work as scheduled by immediate supervisor.

            Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Exceptional Functions

 

Required/Desired Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

·        Working knowledge of Power Point, Spreadsheets, HyperCard, HTML, Foreign Language Software and Screen Capturing.                                                                                                              

·        Considerable experience with the Novell NetWare.                                                              

·        Considerable experience with the use of Elmo projectors and LCD panels.                                                                          

·        Knowledge of Bar coding and PALS automation system.                                                                                            

·        Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.                                                                                            

·        Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other employees, students and the general public.

The Instructional Technology Specialist reports to the Chief Information Officer.
