Working Title Senior Continuing Education Coordinator

Nature of Position:

This is a professional and administrative position assisting the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Work involves co-responsibility for and co-administration of all Elderhostel programs offered through the Division of Continuing Education as well as other non-credit courses offered by the department. Responsibility also includes the overall supervision of Facilities Rentals. Duties include planning course content and structure, hiring of instructors, overseeing preparation of registration materials and the registration process, assisting with budget analysis, coordinating schedules and reviewing evaluations. Employees may be required to supervisor student assistants and/or clerical assistants. Work is reviewed principally through discussion and observation of the results obtained.

Nature of Work:

Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements comprehensive professional development programs, personal enrichment programs, and Elderhostel programs which involve program planning, curriculum development and instructor selection.

  • Plans and implements registration services for Continuing Education programs including Elderhostel programs. 

  • Maintains organized and accurate program records.

  • Assists with budget development for Continuing Education programs.

  • Assesses and summarizes program evaluations and provides feedback to instructors and vendors.      

  • Compiles and reports CEU information to the state.  

  • Coordinates mailing of Elderhostel confirmation packets – all sites.
  • Compiles and distributes housing rosters, registration materials and participant packets, as required, for Continuing Education programs including Elderhostel programs.
  • Generates and tracks instructor contracts and financial transactions for Continuing Education programs including Elderhostel programs.
  • Oversees the maintenance of accurate records of all programs offered including program date and content, enrollment figures, instructor information, and revenue.
  • Acts as a liaison between the college and community during public events held on the college campus.
  • Provides accurate and adequate reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for the fiscal management of the Continuing Education and Public Service Division.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor.   

  • Provides supervision for the Administrative Assistant as well as the Continuing Education Coordinator for Continuing Education.

    Required/Desired Education, Experience and Necessary Qualifications:

  •  An advanced degree or significant work experience in a secondary education setting. Proficiency in database management, statistical packages and data analysis is preferred.

  • Must possess a valid Georgia drivers’ license.

  • Supervision:

    The Senior Continuing Education Coordinator will supervise the Continuing Education Program Assistant. The Senior Continuing Education Coordinator reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs
