A grievance is a work-related situation an employee believes is unfair, unequitable, discriminatory, or an obstruction that adversely affects the employee's job performance. Grievances may include complaints about hours of work, vacation, promotion and other conditions of employment, as well as suspension, demotion and dismissal, except for the following exclusions:
* Termination, demotion, suspension or other adverse effects of reorganization, program modification or financial constraints. (Employees with complaints regarding these situations have the right to appeal to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia in compliance with Article VIII of the Bylaws of the Board of Regents).
* Termination during the provisional period
* Complaints about salary or performance evaluation.
* Grievances which allege improper action by a Faculty member, as defined in the Corps of Instruction described in the Board of Regents' Policies and Procedures, will be processed through established procedures available in the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
