Outlook Web Access (OWA):
- The link on the SGC Faculty/Staff E-mail page has been updated to

sure to update with the new URL:
- There are no changes in how you log onto OWA
Clearing Outlook Auto-Complete Address Cache
-
Outlook remembers addresses that have been entered in
the “To”, “Cc”, and “Bcc” fields even if those addresses are not listed in
the Contacts folder
-
As you type, Outlook will attempt to auto-complete with
addresses that it has remembered
-
To delete all the addresses that Outlook has remembered
to date and thereby remove the possibility of accidentally using an @SGA.EDU
address:
-
Close Outlook
-
Right click the “My Computer” desktop icon, left
click “Explore”
-
Click
“Tools”, “Folder Options”, “View”, make sure that “Hide extensions for
known file types” is NOT checked
-
If this option is checked, uncheck it and click
“Apply” and “OK” to exit the window
-
If this option is not checked, click “OK” to exit
the window
-
Copy and paste the following into the Address bar
and press the “Enter” key on the keyboard:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook
-
Delete the Outlook.NK2 file that you find in this
folder
-
Be extremely careful not to delete any other files in
this folder – if you have any doubts, please contact
support@sgc.edu for assistance
Update the Global Address List (GAL):
-
The GAL is downloaded to individual computers
automatically and updates every 24 hours
-
In order to use the new @sgc.edu addresses from the GAL
, perform a manual update:
-
Within
Outlook, click on “Tools”, “Send/Receive”, “Download Address Book”
-
Leave
all the default selections and click “OK”
-
When you click “To” in a new message, you will now see
the new @sgc.edu addresses listed for each user (scroll to the right in the
GAL window)
-
Outlook Web Access already has the updated GAL
Groups:
Microsoft Exchange Hosted Filtering aka EHS
(formerly SpamShark/FrontBridge):
-
Instructions for accessing EHS can be found here:
http://www.sgc.edu/faculty_staff/documents/EHS_Spam_Instructions.pdf
-
To access Quarantined spam, you will be required to log
in with your new e-mail address
-
Unfortunately, the “First Time” and “Forgot Password”
elements of EHS are not working correctly, so if you need to access
Quarantined spam, you must e-mail me and I will set up a password for you
manually in EHS
-
EHS Tech Support anticipates resolving the password
problem by the end of November
