President's Message
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEI am proud to share with you South Georgia State College’s five-year strategic plan, covering the years 2019-2024 and entitled Moving Forward. This strategic plan is built on the college’s legacy, articulates key goals for the next five years and establishes SGSC’s path forward. Our strategic plan is the result of countless hours of work by members of the SGSC college community; gathering information, analyzing data, engaging in thoughtful discussion and carefully synthesizing ideas into the present document. At SGSC, we value collaboration and teamwork and a hands-on approach to tackling new challenges. Valuable discussions produced new vision and value statements, as well as four college goals to serve as the foundation for teaching, learning and engagement throughout the college and community. Please join me in thanking faculty, staff, students, our foundation board and other community members for their continued dedication to this critical task. We look forward to building upon our new LEAD core values, to foster a culture of academic and student success, diversity and engagement between faculty, students and the community at large. The expression, “it takes a village,” takes on new meaning with this strategic plan, to ensure South Georgia State College stays on a forward path and continues to be recognized as a valuable and important member of the University System of Georgia!
