Bookstore
Welcome to the South Georgia College Bookstore!
The SGC Bookstore is owned and operated by South Georgia College, a
two-year institution of the University System of Georgia. The function and
purpose of the bookstore is to make available necessary tools for the
education of its students and to provide services to faculty and staff. The
SGC Bookstore is a self-supporting operation of South Georgia College and
fees collected from purchases are used to pay for textbooks, other products
sold, employee salaries, and operating expenses.
The College Bookstore is located on the 2nd floor of the Irby Dell Ingram
Student Union Building.
Books
The bookstore carries the required and optional textbooks needed in any SGC
academic course offered each semester. Both new and used books are offered
if available. Remember, going to class before purchasing your books is an
option, your instructor may help you clarify which books are required and
which are optional. Some select classes may also offer online “e-books.”
Check with your instructor for more information.
Apparel and more
The SGC Bookstore carries more than just books. Students can find
essential academic and art supplies. SGC apparel such as t-shirts, pullover
hoodies and jackets as well as caps, bags and gift items are also available.
South Georgia College Nursing Students can take advantage of our line of
scrubs. Sodas and snacks are also available.
Bookstore Purchases
Book purchases may be made at any time in the Bookstore by using
cash, debit cards, check, VISA or MASTERCARD, or SGC Bookstore Gift Cards.
Those using financial aid to make purchases in the bookstore can do so one week
prior to the first day of classes and is available for use the first two weeks
of each semester. Most financial aid, if available, can be used to purchase
textbooks, school supplies, and SGC souvenir and gift items. Some limitations
apply. Please be sure you have paid for classes at the Cashier’s Office (also
located on the 2nd floor of the Union) before going to the Bookstore.
Online Bookstore
Students can buy their textbooks from the comfort of their own home
thanks to South Georgia College’s online bookstore. This option gives students
a convenient, one-stop-shop for all their textbooks. With this new system, the
students can click on their class and see exactly what they’ll need. By
clicking on this SGC ONLINE BOOKSTORE link or by browsing to
www.sgcbookstore.com, students can
access the bookstore, allowing them to purchase both new and used books. The
menu is easy to navigate and allows students to see the entire catalog of SGC
classes, instructors, and the required textbooks. Paying for textbooks is easy
as well. The new Nebraska WebPrism system, a network that automatically tracks
all student purchases and credits, allows students to place a secure order with
their credit card or any available financial aid.

Please Note
Students who decrease their hours during the drop/add period or who
do not attend class are responsible for the balance on their account. If
payment is not made within 30 days the account is turned over to the
collection agency and the student will be responsible for all collection
costs.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS: How to get a refund...
Remember all refunds require the presentation of a South Georgia College
Bookstore sales receipt—otherwise any approved refund will be put on a SGC
Bookstore gift card.
To receive a full refund on books that you purchased new, the Bookstore must
be able to resell the book as new. Since books are accepted for a full refund
only if they are in excellent condition, please consider the following:
- Inspect books before you purchase them to ensure that there is no damage
that may have occurred during shipping and handling.
- Caution! Book bags often damage books. Don't tote your books in your
book bag until you are certain you will not need to return the book.
- Keep your books safe from liquids and moisture. Exposure to liquids will
cause books to discolor, wrinkle and mildew. The Bookstore will not accept
returns on books that have been damaged by liquids.
- Don't write, highlight, or otherwise mark in a book until you are
certain that you will need it for your class.
Book Buy-Backs
The SGC Bookstore generally offers a book buy back period at the end
