South Georgia College Policies and Procedures for Conference and Catering Services

South Georgia College values its role as a community resource. The Division of Continuing Education and Public Service provides state-of-the-art conference services. Whether you need a meeting room for 10 people or 200 people we can accommodate your group. Our auditoriums can accommodate groups as small 25 people or as many as 470 people. We are also able to provide your meeting with catering services from coffee and muffins to a full banquet or sit down dining experience.

Effective January 1, 2007
All reservations for meeting space should be made through the Division of Continuing Education and Public Service 912.260.4268. Facilities Request Form.

Facilities Reservations:
No charge to state and Federal agencies for single-day, single-room use or for events co-sponsored by SGC, except for Wellness Center. A clean up fee will be charged for all non-educational events.

Engram Union Ballroom (capacity 200):
Weekdays - $200; Monday 8:00am – Friday 5:00pm (cannot be rented by the hour)
Weekends - $250; Friday 5:00pm – Sunday 10:00pm (cannot be rented by the hour)
In addition to rent, a $100 refundable damage deposit is required. Damage deposit will be refunded all or in part upon inspection of the room following the event.
*Any Friday event extending past 5:00pm will be charged the weekend rate.

McGouirk Auditorium (capacity 472):
Weekdays - $600; Monday 8:00am – Friday 5:00pm (cannot be rented by the hour)
Weekends - $700; Friday 5:00pm – Sunday 10:00pm (cannot be rented by the hour)
In addition to rent, a $100 refundable damage deposit is required. Damage deposit will be refunded all or in part upon inspection of the room following the event.

Computer Labs:
Weekdays - $30 per hour, $240 per day; Weekends - $35 per hour, $285 per day

Wellness Center:
Gym: $75 per hour - $700 per day (12 hours Max) * 3 hours Minimum
Concession Booth: 15% of profit
Fitness Room – SGC events only
Pool – SGC events only
Courtyard – SGC events only

All other classrooms and meeting space:
$25 per hour - $200 per day.
 
In addition, SGC will collect 15% of any revenue generated from ticket sales or admission fees. If rent is not paid in full 7 (seven) days prior to the event, the reservation will be cancelled. Other facilities may be available upon request.

Camps and Lodging:

  • Lodging only: $11.00/day/person for double occupancy or $17.00/day/person for single occupancy
  • Camps that require heavy use of facilities: $38.50/day/person with food and lodging or $31.50/day/person with food and no lodging
  • Camps that use minimal facilities: $34.50/day/person with food or $20.50/day/person without food. The indoor swimming pool may be available for $25 per hour.

SOUTH GEORGIA COLLEGE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR MOVE ANY GROUP(S) IN THE EVENT THAT A COLLEGE SPONSORED ACTIVITY SHOULD OCCUR REQUIRING THE SPACE.  SOUTH GEORGIA COLLEGE, AT ITS SOLE DISCRETION, RETAINS THE AUTHORITY TO CONTROL THE USE OF ITS FACILITIES AND TO DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATENESS OF ANY PROPOSED ACTIVITY OR EVENT FOR THE COLLEGE CAMPUS.

Catering:
Please Note: Food Services has first refusal of all catering events. Should food services not desire to cater an event outside food may then be brought on campus.

Arrangements for catering must be made in advance and the party must guarantee a minimum number of people. This guarantee may be updated 5 (five) days before the event. The guaranteed number is the minimum number that will be billed.
