Here are your simple steps to getting started at South Georgia College!

  1. Submit your application for enrollment and the $20 fee.
  2. Submit official copies of high school transcripts and/or GED scores.
  3. Submit your immunization form completed by a healthcare professional.
  4. Submit SAT and/or ACT scores if you have them. Take the COMPASS entrance and placement test if required.
  5. Submit official transcripts from all colleges and technical schools you have attended.
  6. Complete the FAFSA to determine if you’re eligible for financial aid or scholarships. South Georgia College’s code is 001592.
  7. Upon receipt of all required documents, students are most often notified of a tentative admissions decision within 10-15 business days. A final admissions decision is made after receipt of the final high school transcript which shows the student’s date of graduation.

COMPASS test schedule on the South Georgia College campus

Students who are required to take the COMPASS Test should call 912.260.4206 for available test times. Those students who need to take the COMPASS are students who have not taken the SAT/ACT; who scored below 430 on the SAT Critical Reading (17 on the ACT English), 400 on the SAT Math (17 on the ACT math); or did not complete Georgia’s Required High School Curriculum.

COMPASS scores are available immediately upon completion of the test and can be obtained from the admissions office. COMPASS Test scores are required before students may register for classes. There is no charge for the first attempt on the COMPASS. A $10 fee per each section is required for the second attempt. You are allowed to take each section of the COMPASS only two times.

Entry Program students may take the COMPASS test on the VSU campus. A student may contact the Office of Testing at VSU for more information (229.245.3878).
