Business Office Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of questions frequently asked by our students about the
procedures of the South Georgia College Business Office. If you have any
additional questions, please contact the Business Office at 912-260-4239 or come
by the office in Richey Hall.
If I have enough financial aid to cover all my fees, is my schedule
automatically held?
Yes. Students with enough financial aid or scholarships to pay for all charges
will automatically have their schedules held. Do not assume that you are in this
category. In Banner Web view Check Registration Status to see if aid has held
your schedule or if you still owe money. Money owed must be paid by the
appropriate deadline, or your schedule will be dropped.
If my financial aid is not sufficient to pay my fees, what do I need to do?
Touchnet is a way to pay your fees online. In order to get into the system you
need to do the following:
- If you have the necessary information, continue to the Touchnet Site.
- You will need to enter your Student ID (928 number). Your PIN number the
first time you log in will be your date of birth (MMDDYY as in 031985).
During your first login you will be asked to change your PIN.
- Continue to
Touchnet.
You will be able to pay your bill, view your recent activity or look up your
refund amount. You can also sign up an authorized user to make payments on your
account. This new fee payment system will cut down on the time you spend waiting
in line to pay your fees.
How do I receive refunds from South Georgia College?
South Georgia College now refunds students through a company called Higher One.
New students receive Easy Refund Cards from Higher One that they can use to set
up their refund preferences. You can choose one of the following options:
- Receive money through an existing bank account of your choosing.
- Set up a One Account in which case the Easy Refund Card becomes a debit
card and can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted. We also have a Higher
One ATM on campus from which you can withdraw money at no charge.
Will I receive my financial aid refund on the first day of class?
No. Financial aid will be posted to accounts ten days prior to the start of
classes. Federal aid will not be refunded to students through Higher One until
four weeks after the first day of class. However, you may charge books against
your federal aid in the Bookstore through the last day of drop add. You must
present your student ID to the Bookstore cashier to use this feature.
