Financial Aid and Tuition Refund Disbursement (HigherOne)

South Georgia College Students,
Beginning in the Fall of 2009, South Georgia College changed the way students receive financial aid and tuition refunds. South Georgia College has partnered with HigherOne, a financial services company, to bring a new method of refund disbursement to campus. Financial aid and tuition refunds will now be disbursed to South Georgia College students via a HigherOne Easy Refund Card. With the new Easy Refund service, refunds will be delivered in the manner the students choose - debit card or electronic transfer. Even if you do not receive Financial Aid, you may be eligible to receive a refund from South Georgia College. For example, if you drop a class during the drop/add period, or if you withdraw from South Georgia, you are eligible for a refund.


Here's what all South Georgia students must do...

1. Make sure South Georgia has your correct mailing address. If you are not certain that we have your most current mailing address, take a moment and check your information through Banner Web's Personal Information link.
   1. Go to Banner Web and click 'Enter Secure Area'
   2. Login w/ your Banner Account
   3. Click on Personal Information from the main menu
   4. Click on View Addresses and Phones
   5. If the information you see is incorrect, please update it in the Registrar's Office located in Engram Hall.

   
   NOTE: If we do not have your current address, you will not receive the easy refund card. The new Easy Refund Card will be mailed to the student's legal address on file with the college. Therefore, if your address is incorrect you will not receive your refund when you expect it. We encourage ALL students to verify that we have accurate mailing addresses.
    

2. New students will receive a HigherOne Easy Refund Card in the mail (see card image below). The card will arrive in an envelope with the text "Important Refund Disbursement Information" printed on the front (see envelope image below). HOLD ON TO THIS CARD. When you receive your Easy Refund card, go online and activate your card. To activate the card go to www.easyrefundcard.com. If you do not activate your card, you WILL NOT receive a refund. During card activation, you will choose how to receive your refund money. If you want faster access to your funds, simply choose to have your refunds deposited directly into your HigherOne OneAccount. You are not required to open a HigherOne debit account; however, you must make a choice for your preferred method of payment (debit card or electronic transfer).
