Message from the Foundation

Dear Friends of South Georgia College:

On behalf of the South Georgia College Foundation, we are extremely grateful for the wonderful support of our donors. We are thankful that so many people believe in, and are committed to, the good work that the College is doing for our students and community.

This coming year, I look forward to working with local community leaders, businesses and corporations to raise awareness of the vital role South Georgia College plays in our community. We are fortunate to have South Georgia College available to meet student and community needs. However, despite the relatively low cost of tuition, many students cannot continue their education because of financial hardships.

To help these students achieve their career potential and to increase the number of South Georgia College graduates available to meet the new millennium’s demand for a skilled and educated workforce, South Georgia College’s Foundation is launching a campaign to raise critically needed scholarship dollars. A special campaign for West Green Elementary 5th grade class is called the “Plant Their Feet” program. We have promised 55 5th graders a college education at SGC when they graduate from high school. This program will help us invest in the future of South Georgia and enable the Foundation to help more students overcome financial barriers to access education.

Your investment in South Georgia College students will help our community to grow and prosper by ensuring that a skilled workforce is available to meet the needs of our regional economy.
