The South Georgia College Entry Program is a university entry program located on the campus of Valdosta State University. It allows students to complete all developmental studies and college preparatory curriculum deficiencies, plus core college courses, in order to enter the university as a sophomore. All core classes transfer to Valdosta State University. SGCEP students have access to all academic resources and extracurricular activities available to students of VSU. The South Georgia College Entry Program wants to be your first year college! If you want to gain entry to Valdosta State University, or another college of your choice, the South Georgia College Entry Program has a proven record for success. Our program offers CORE courses required by all University System of Georgia institutions as well as Learning Support courses and freshman year nurturing. All South Georgia College Entry Program courses are offered on the Valdosta State University Campus with South Georgia College serving as the academic institution of record. Students have Valdosta State University ID cards and have access to all VSU events, services and facilities, such as the new state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center. Take the first stepThe mission of the South Georgia College Entry Program is to prepare you for sophomore level classes at Valdosta State University or any other University System institution. Enjoy a small classroom atmosphere, plenty of one-on-one attention from instructors, and core curriculum classes which are designed to fit just about any major. If you are a high school student who did not complete all necessary classes in the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC), we offer classes necessary to complete the CPC requirements. The South Georgia College Entry Program provides an alternative admissions program if you are not ready for university entry. The South Georgia College Entry Program includes a compass entry exam, learning support courses if necessary and over 30 hours of university accredited core curriculum classes. After completing this program with a 2.0 grade point average you can gain admission to Valdosta State as a sophomore.
