Who do I contact to get started to college?
Contact the Admissions/Enrollment Services Office at 1.800.342.6364 or
912.260.4206. You may also contact the School of Nursing at 912.260.4358.
You must apply to both the Admissions/Enrollment Services Office as well as
the School of Nursing. A $20.00 application fee is required to
Admissions/Enrollment Services - there is no application fee to the School
of Nursing. You will need to submit to the Admissions/Enrollment Services
Office an application, official college transcripts as well as high school
transcript or GED scores, and Certificate of Immunization. You will also
need to submit a nursing application, official SAT or ACT scores as well as
official college transcripts to the School of Nursing.
What is the cost?
*$82.34 per semester hour for Georgia residents.
Example: A 3-hour course would be $247.02 (other fees not included).

Would I be required to complete admission tests?
Yes, the tests are for placement in appropriate courses. COMPASS tests for
reading, writing, and math. SAT (verbal and math) or ACT scores are required
for nursing majors. HESI A2 Admissions test.
Where would I attend classes?
The bridge class rotates yearly between Douglas and Waycross. In 2013, the
class will be in Waycross. In 2014, the class will be in Douglas. After the
LPN-RN bridge course and space permitting, students may choose SGC or
Waycross College to complete the nursing program.
How many days will I attend class?
Four days per week for the LPN-RN bridge class. Monday 9AM-3PM, Tuesday
8AM-4PM, Wednesday 9AM-12noon, and Thursday 9AM-4PM. The average study time
for class is 3 hours study per 1 hour lecture.
Will my classes from the technical college transfer to meet general
education requirements at SGC?
There are courses that will transfer from SACS accredited technical colleges
as long as the courses were taken at the time the technical college was
accredited. Those include mathematics, algebra, pre-calculus and English
composition (two courses), American literature, psychology, economics,
sociology and public speaking.
Must I be licensed as an LPN to participate in the bridge program?
Yes, students must possess a current license as an LPN in the State of
Georgia.
