The Division of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Education offers Associate of Science degree programs in biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics/pre-engineering, physics, and pre-allied health. Completion of an approved program prepares the student for transfer to a four-year college or university. In addition, science and mathematics courses help non-science majors develop the background necessary to make informed choices on many issues affecting modern societies. Small classes and laboratories enable the faculty to provide a student‑centered classroom environment. The Division of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Education maintains a learning center equipped with multimedia resources to augment classroom instruction. These range from videotapes to supplement classes taught on campus to self‑instructional computer modules. The center is open for student use five days and one evening each week. The Division of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Education enjoys a reputation of preparing students for a successful senior college experience. The Division of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Education sponsors intercollegiate competition in the areas of men's baseball and soccer and women's soccer and fast pitch softball. A strong intramural program also offers students an opportunity to participate in a wide range of team sports.
